Moving into the Tier 4 specialty starships, we begin with the new Bellerophon Class Long Range Science Vessel
A variation of the Inrepid class, the Long Range Science Vessel Refit: Bellerophon Class takes its name from the U.S.S. Bellerophon, an Intrepid class vessel commanded by Admiral William Ross during the Dominion War. The Bellerophon Class comes equipped with a Nadeon Detonator Module. This console modification allows you to alter a Photon Torpedo so it generates a Photonic Shockwave upon impact. The Nadeon Detonator Module may be equipped on any Science Vessel in any console slot.
Completing the current add-ons to the Tier 2 starships available in Star Trek Online is the new Exeter Class. A variant on the famed Constitution Class, the Exeter honors the 400 crew members of the U.S.S. Exeter who were killed by a biological agent in 2268. The Exeter Class comes equipped with an Ionized Gas Sensor that provides a bonus to Starship Sensors and can modify a torpedo to track down and target a cloaked ship. The Ionized Gas Sensor can be equipped in any console slot of any Cruiser.
Just recently added as a new class available for the Tier 2 Federation Escorts comes the Gladius Class. A variant on the Saber Class that saw extensive action during the Dominion War, the Gladius has an updated look and technology for Starfleet captains in the 25th century. The Gladius Class comes equipped with an Impulse Capacitance Cell that can create an Impulse Burst, greatly increasing the ship’s speed and defense in combat for a short period of time. This console may be equipped in any console slot of any Escort.
The Rhode Island Class science vessel is a refit of the Nova Class, with a slightly updated look and new technology. Available in the C-Store, once purchased its components are interchangeable with the other Tier 2 science vessels. Science Vessel Refits come standard with a Photonic Displacer Module. This console module can be used to generate a photonic duplicate while masking the ship’s energy signature — a perfect decoy. The Photonic Displacer Module can be equipped on any Science Vessel in any console slot
I just recently got back online started a brand new campaign within Star Trek Online. I am once again playing along the Science Officer Career path. I thought it would be fun, while playing this time, to get some screen-caps of my starships. My character’s name is James A. Ableman, Liuetenant Starfleet. Currently we are commanding an Oberth Class science vessel, the U.S.S. Palomino, NCC-93099. She came equipped with the Enhanced Plasma Manifold, as well as the retro-fitted fore and aft phaser banks from the TOS Constitution Class vessel. I am playing with the Collector’s edition game so I also have the prototype Red Matter Capacitor installed.
Rounding out the posts on the Chariot Class starship are these incredible CGI renders. Sadly, I do not know who created these. If anyone does, please let me know so I can update this accordingly. This model is simply superb.
This design is more true to the Atolm sketch, and Jim Morvay’s first set of schematics. There are some noticeable differences, espcially in the command section of the primary hull. Alos the overall detailing has it fitting into the design principles of the Nemesis time-period.
Today we bring you Jim Morvay’s second take on the ATOLM’s Chariot Class starship. This one shows heavy modifications, mostly offensive and defensive. It even has a docking port on the underside of the Primary hull for a Defiant Class starship. This a more aggressive starship than the previous design.
I’m sorry about the quality of the thumbnails. This same issue occured with the previous post. Click on them to get a tru view of what this ship looks like.
What we have for you today is a real treat. For those who have viewed the recent post displaying a few of my favorite conceptual designs by ATOLM, you should recognize this beauty: the Chariot Class Federation Starship. These schematics were created by Jim Morvay with some slight alterations from the original sketch. This is actually the 1st set of two variations on the design. I prefer this one, as it feels more like an exploration cruiser compared to what will appear in the next post.
(The thumbnails for some reason look horrible here. Click on them to view the full-size image. Trust me, its worth it.)
Here we have one of my personal favorites of the starships you can purchase with your Cryptic Points in Star Trek Online’s C-Store: the Oberth Class science vessel. She’s small and very nimble. This class is also meant for the Lieutenant rank. She comes equipped with an extra science console and an EnHanced Plasma Manifold, which you can take with you as you rank up and progress on to more advanced starships.
