Kelvin-Era Starship…

GE
The opening scene of JJ Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek hooked me from the first shot of the U.S.S. Kelvin. I like the rugged look of the ship.

Here is an unfinished starship sketch from that era.

I’m thinking of re-designing this, and drawing it on a bigger scale…this was on an 11×14 piece of copy paper.

A couple of Starfleet Uniform sketches…

007 009 Trek2009a 001 trekswimsuit   It’s been a while since i have worked on anything like this, but there was a time when i used to love drawing and designing Starfleet uniforms from Star Trek. Back when all the hype surrounding the 2009 release of JJ Abrams Star Trek film, numerous ideas came rolling in…so here are a few that were drawn over the last couple of years since then…AQnd yes, that is a Starfleet-issue swimsuit…more to follow once i get good scans on them…

U.S.S. Kelvin Era Uniform Sketch…

As I’ve mentioned before, there are many aspects of new take on Star Trek introduced in the 2009 J.J. Abrams Star Trek film that I found very appealing. The opening scene of the film depicting the birth of James T. Kirk, the sacrifice made by his father and the destruction of the U.S.S. Kelvin is still my favorite scene of the entire film. I like the design of the Kelvin, interior and exterior. I was also pleased with the overall design of the Starfleet Uniforms of this era. So, as usual, I decided to make my own pass at it. So here we have my sketch of the Standard Male Duty Uniform, both the line art and the missing Red color scheme. This was completed months ago. I thought it would make a good start to my return to updating this blog.
