Star Trekkin Sundays – Star Trek: Picard Main Titles

This is a wee bit over due, as we are on episode four of this fantastic series featuring Patrick Stewart, back in his most iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard! Jeff Russo is composing again, and this main title…is superb! And it has a hook at the end. I should have expected it, considering his theme for Star Trek: Discovery has a similar hook…but this one is so good, it gets me every time i listen to it…You’ll know when you hear it

Musical Mondays – Pike on the Bridge – Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 soundtrack – Jeff Russo

Season one was good. Season 2…Awesome! This piece in particular…just beautiful. I cannot wait to hear what Russo composes for season 3.

Musical Monday – Shazam! – Benjamin Walflisch

I haven’t seen the film yet, but have read its good fun. As for the music…its great! Classic superhero music. I was hesitant at first, seeing as this is the same composer to work on Blade Runner: 2049, which i find hard to listen to, sadly. But this, this is on a different level entirely.

Take a Listen to the theme…

Musical Mondays…The Last Jedi – John Williams…

Not gonna talk about the movie, I’ll just say I am one the many who enjoyed it.

As for the music…no one should be able to dispute that John WIlliams has done it, yet again. The score is amazing, overall…but two pieces stand out for me…

and

just fantastic!

Musical Monday -Captain Marvel – “More Problems” – Pinar Toprak

This…get to the end, you’ll hear it…stopped me in my tracks and had to listen to it again!

The Movie is great! Brie Larson is Wonderful! Powerful! And Her Mohawk is on FIRE!

And this music…Pinar Toprak knocked it out of the park!

Musical Mondays…Prologue from Ant-Man and the Wasp – Christophe Beck

t

Sometimes I cant tell if I love superhero movies because of the action on screen, or the thrilling music we are usually guaranteed to hear…and this one of those. I love that descending brass motif.

Christophe Beck composed a fantastic follow-up to his remarkable Ant-Man score. So happy that the director kept him on-board for this.

Musical Mondays – Jupiter Ascending – Movements 1-4 – Michael Giacchino

Another fine example of a horrible movie with some outstanding music. Michael Giacchino remains one of the best film composers of the 21st century, and this is why. His score for Jupiter Ascending is a delightful listening experience, especially the 1st four Movements as he titled them –

Musical Mondays – Divide – Christ Tilton

i stumbled upon this little gem recently and finally listened to it last week, when i snuck it into my iPod for my morning workouts…and it’s fantastic – especially “Stealing the Future” – propulsive!
